Job Summary:
The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training services to athletes and sports teams. This position requires extensive knowledge of sports injuries, prevention, and rehabilitation techniques, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Head Athletic Trainer will oversee the athletic training staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and adherence to established protocols. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with coaches, team physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being and optimal performance of athletes.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement effective athletic training programs, policies, and procedures.
2. Provide athletic training services, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation, to athletes.
3. Evaluate and manage acute and chronic sports injuries, determining appropriate treatment plans and referrals.
4. Collaborate with team physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention and treatment strategies.
5. Oversee the daily operations of the athletic training room, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
6. Supervise and mentor athletic training staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification from the Board of Certification (BOC).
3. Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
4. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer, preferably in a collegiate or professional sports setting.
5. In-depth knowledge of sports injuries, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.
6. Strong understanding of NCAA and/or professional sports rules and regulations.
